Just hours before earning her eighth Olympic medal, Simone Biles responded to comments made about her hair

Reading Time: 2 minutes
The Olympic athlete posted a video of herself with the comment, “Don’t come for me about my hair.” She went on, “IT WAS DONE, but [the] bus has NO AC & it’s like 9,0000 degrees.” “And it’s a 45-minute ride,”
Biles posted a selfie with the caption, “I’m going to hold your hand when I say this 💋,” on a different Instagram Story.
When you want to remark on a black girl’s hair, think twice. Simply said, don’t. Many people have complimented Biles on her hair during the tournament.
While many ladies prefer to wear their hair in a bun or slicked back ponytail, Biles has been seen with looser hair.
The guidelines state that American gymnasts must wear their hair “secured away from the face so as not to obscure her vision of the apparatus” and be “well groomed in her appearance.”
“The hair stylist for Simone Biles ought to be fired.” I’m perplexed—did Simone Biles deliberately neglect to style her hair?
It is blatantly obvious that every gymnast has hair gel or spray applied and is wearing a tight outfit.
She has sloppy chunks all over her bun, which is basically flopping about. It almost seems deliberate, doesn’t it? WTF
“I understand Simone Biles was upset about remarks made about her hair in her documentary, but she really needs someone else—not her mother, no offense—to do her hair.”
