It is quite possible that Ellen DeGeneres is giggling all the way to the bank after selling her expansive California mansion for a sum that is extremely high.
The television celebrity and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have reportedly sold their 10-acre home in Santa Barbara County for an astounding $96 million, as stated by property documents that were acquired by the Wall Street Journal.
Around the year 2022, the pair purchased the house for a price of $70 million, and it has been stated that they have since sold it to mining mogul Robert Friedland.
The billionaire is planning to make the Tuscan-style villa in Carpinteria his permanent residence. The property has 9,000 square feet of living space, five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, stone archways, hardwood flooring, walk-in closets, access to a private beach, and many exquisite facilities.
There is no way for us to know how much money Ellen has invested in the house since she purchased it; nevertheless, the fact that it is priced at $96 million indicates that she is most likely generating a sizeable profit, which she is already putting toward the purchase of a new home.
It has been reported by the Wall Street Journal that Ellen and Robert have engaged in a property exchange of sorts. She is reportedly purchasing back a Santa Barbara home that she had previously sold to Robert this year. She is said to have spent 32 million dollars for the house, which was constructed in 1919 and is situated on eight acres.
Ellen and Portia certainly have great plans for the property since they also purchased a three-acre land next door for six million dollars, which gives us the impression that they are planning to completely renovate their house in the near future.
Ellen is sure to be a favorite with Santa Barbara County contractors.
