On the television program “The Greatest Dancer,” a performer with Down syndrome wowed the audience with his extraordinary talents. Andrew, now 21, has Down Syndrome, but that hasn’t stopped him from living his best life despite being born with the condition. As a kid, he would stand in front of the television while watching the British dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing and try to emulate the dance sequences he saw on the show.
Andrew is a fan of a variety of dancing styles, including ballroom, modern, and ballet, and he has chosen to take part in the competition known as The Greatest Dancer. On this program, dancers of all ages and from a variety of dance styles fight for cash prizes and the opportunity to be on Strictly Come Dancing.
The concept of the program is such that the dancer performs their audition while concealed behind a wall at first, and then the audience votes on whether or not they should go on to the next round. The mirrored wall will be opened and the dancer will go to the next round if they earn more than 75% of the audience vote.
When Andrew started dancing to “Can’t Stop The Feeling” by Justin Timberlake, he was at the top of his game. He dazzled the judges and the audience with his great dance abilities and precise movements. It was so amazing that the judge, Cheryl, couldn’t contain her emotions and fell into tears because she was so moved by Andrew’s enthusiasm for dance.
