After 98 episodes of ‘Deadliest Catch,’ Nick Mavar passed aged 59.
Mavar passed Thursday following a medical incident at an Alaska boatyard. His appendicitis problem on Deadliest Catch forced him to leave in 2021 after 98 episodes.
The Bristol Bay Borough Police confirmed the loss to People. Naknek, Alaska, authorities got a 911 call about a medical issue at a boatyard. Police said emergency responders took Mavar to Camai Medical Center “while providing life saving measures.”
Medical personnel declared the fisherman dead. The family is informed and an inquiry is ongoing.
Several other Deadliest Catch actors have passed away in previous years, and this news comes after their passing. During the year 2020, deck master Nick McGlashan passed away at the age of 33 due to an overdose of drugs, while deckhand Mahlon Reyes passed away at the age of 38 due to acute cocaine intoxication. Blake Painter, a former captain of Deadliest Catch, passed away in his home in 2018, at the age of 38, with many narcotics discovered at the site of his loss.
Tony Lara, a previous captain of Deadliest Catch, deckhand Justin Tennison, and former captain Phil Harris are among the other notable Deadliest Catch cast members who have regrettably passed away.
